We're live at Moscone! The keynote begins in a few hours (10 a.m), but there will be a steady stream of pre-show commentary and pictures from here on out
There are probably about 50 media folk in the line, and a few thousand WWDC attendees waiting to get in outside. The line is wrapped around the building.
Dude in the front of the line says he's been there since midnight. You know how cold it was in SF last night? That's dedication.
Media registration just opened. If we go quiet for a few, it's because we're badging up.
We've moved upstairs, and are now waiting to get into the main hall.
There is a damn near insane number of iPads floating around. Every third person is carrying one.
Reminder: the main keynote begins at 10 am, or just over an hour from now
The media waiting area is slammed. Six or seven hundred media folks alone, it seems.
Fun fact: media people like to push toward doors, even when they aren't open and aren't expected to be open for 15 minutes.
The doors have been opened, but only for broadcasters and their big ol cameras. We're almost there folks.
More pictures will begin trickling in steadily now
Everyone's still just shuffling in. Louis Armstrong's "Georgia" is playing
It's an all Louis Armstrong soundtrack. All Jack Harris, All the time! Rumbly voice followed by jazz horns, Goooooo!
The stage! We're about 15 feet away, and fully set up and good to go.
We've seen lots of good faces here today. Ev Williams of twitter, a number of Pixar execs, and a bunch of top-selling-app developers.
Wondering what the soundtrack is?Louis Armstrong. Still.
Looks like there are a few thousand people in here at this point. I can't say for sure, but it looks like the doors behind us have closed.
The third Louis Armstrong song has ended.. any bets on what the next one will be?
For everyone who guessed Louis Armstrong, you win a prize. Your prize? MORE LOUIS ARMSTRONG.
To be honest, I'm just glad they're not playing the Black Eyed Peas' "I got a feelin'". Go to 10 product announcements, 9 of them will play that song right before they start the show. Every one of them thinks they're the first to do it.
OH DANG. I fail miserably. It's not even Jack harris - it's Louis Armstrong. Replace all mentions of Jack Harris by "Louis Armstrong", and replace Greg with someone who knows music.
I also see VC John Doerr. One person I don't see: Eric Schmidt.
"Ladies and gentleman, welcome to the WWDC 2010 keynote address. Please turn off all cell phones and PDAs"
We're about to begin, folks!
Louis Armstrongs "Wonderful World" is playing, as everyone who was wandering takes their seats
